My name is April Gamble and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I earned a Master of Arts degree in Family Psychology from Hardin-Simmons University in 2000. I am Prepare/Enrich trained, have completed basic training in EMDR, have level 1 training in Restoration Therapy, and am a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist. I am a co-owner of Rise Counseling in Lubbock, TX and also have a private practice office in Slaton, TX. I have over 20 years of experience working with individuals and families experiencing a variety of life challenges. These include trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, foster care placement, adoption, divorce/separation, and other major life transitions. I provide couple, family and individual counseling and primarily work with preteens, adolescents, and adults. My name is James Allison and I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for over 6 years. I currently work full time at the Community Health Center of Lubbock as Mental Health Therapist. I see clients here at Rise in the evenings and some Saturdays. I work with adolescence through adults struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, addiction, etc. Due to my 20 year in education, I work with teens and adolescents who struggle with depression, anxiety, stress, phobias, suicidal ideation, etc. I also work with students who are dealing with pornography addiction and other sexual issues facing adolescents today. I work with recovery support groups and clients seeking health and wellness guidance as well. I take Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance but I am currently not taking new clients.
My name is Amy Conley and I am honored to be part of the Rise Counseling team. I received a Masters of Education in Counseling and Human Development from Hardin-Simmons University in 1997. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. For the past 20 years, I have had the privilege of assisting individuals in developing the skills needed to work through various issues that are currently preventing them from moving forward. These include: grief and loss, issues related to past trauma, depression/anxiety, involvement in the criminal justice system, and substance use. I utilize a variety of techniques from a cognitive/behavioral therapy approach to assist individuals in identifying and altering negative thought and behavior patterns that have interfered with their success. I hold firmly to Victor Frankl’s belief that “Life is 10% of what happens to us, and 90% of how we react to it.” As one who has been blind since birth, I believe that our perspective greatly impacts our ability to work through and find meaning in difficult circumstances and to become more resilient as a result. My name is Alicia Holligan. Life can be messy but it is in those messy moments that we often find our greatest opportunities for growth and healing. I've spent over two decades counseling students in elementary and middle school settings, as well as training professionals in mental health and trauma.
